I picked this title up after "Ashley" (Gamestops automated pain in the butt) telephoned me and stated my pre-order was ready for pick up. I spoke with the Gamestop sales associate (they know me pretty well there) and asked how Heavy Rain was selling. He informed me they have no more copies of Heavy Rain and not a PS3 in the store to play it on. This kind of threw me off but my copy was locked in. Ok I take the game home and place it in the PS3. The title screen comes up and informs me I need to install 6 gigs of info on my hard drive before I can start this puppy. I was about to be upset until a message came across the screen and asked me to get out a piece of paper that was included with the Heavy Rain blu-ray. This piece of paper along with the on screen directions instructed me how to fold an oragami figure. This was obviously put in place to distract the person installing the game and let me say it did its job. By the time I finished folding the paper into the oragami killers business card it was time to start the game.

I have to admit the game starts off very slow. If you are a person who likes action shooters, you might want to skip this title. If your like me and you were a big fan of Indigo Prophecy, this title is right up your alley. The game starts you sleeping in a bedroom and the male character you portray has awaken to start his day. You do the regular morning task like brush your teeth, take a shower, and shave. Most of these actions are controlled by "gesturing" or moving the joystick in the way someone brushes their teeth. Or by moving the right joystick in a slow steady movement as not to nick your face while shaving. As most of you know the majority of the joystick movements are context sensitive or push the button or a direction that correlates with the button on the screen. This seems pretty easy but it can heat up for example when in a fight at the prostitutes apartment and her huge boyfriend/customer wants to smash your face in. The joystick interface seems a little daunting at first but soon you get used to it and it's more intuitive.

As far as the graphics go, QuanticDream has nailed the essence of motion capture. While you control each of the characters in a tank like fashion, the actual look of the characters and their environments is stunning. You could probably also assume that by the title of the game it rains alot. Well even the damn water looks like it was motion captured. I know that sounds strange but the realism is uncanny. Like I stated earlier I'm only about three hours in and I really like this game so far. The story keeps my hands locked around the dual shock and I can say it's about time. This is shaping up to be a really important title for Sony and I definitely hope Sony and QuanticDream take their time with such an amazing title. I will blow through the game and give it an actual score after it's done. I hope the ending doesn't suck because that would turn a heavy rain into a drizzle......

All of that goes out the window in my family. I am the son of the podcast host most of you listen to. My name is Eric Jr. Most people call me EJ but on AverageJoeGamer.net I’m known as GBox Jr. I wanted to give you an inside look at the gaming practices that go on at my house. I’m a16 year old junior in high school and as many of you know, gaming is a part of a 16 year olds life. The problem or pitfall comes in when your dad is the one that introduced you to gaming. As a matter of fact I cannot even think of a day when my dad didn’t game. I am a military brat and my dad took me all over the world and gaming was a big part of everything we did. I can remember being in Japan and when my dad was not working “WE” were gaming. I have to admit I love every minute of it too. Gaming not only fills my life in an entertaining way.My dad has taught me many different lessons using videogames. As an example, I was having a hard time with understanding offensive sets in football and my dad used Madden to show me how to read a defense and more or less give me an actual visual of what each players role was on the field. All of my friends come by our house and are in total awe of the “Man Cave” and the gaming setup we have put together. They think it’s so cool how my dad plays the newest and latest games, how he podcast, and how he writes articles on a videogame site. I am very lucky in that respect but let me let you in on the other side.

Ok ever since I was little my dad never let me win. He is very competitive with me and he never slacks off. He also doesn’t like me to touch his gaming systems. Now with that said he has gotten me my own 360, andPS3 and 52 inch tv. So I really can’t complain. But he has this thing about his games. They have to stay in the cases and you have to put them back on the games rack after you play and I can never leave any games that I am not playing in my room. I guess one more problem that we both run into is we either have to buy two games at once or wait till the other person is done with a title in order to start the title. It’s also rare that we play a game like Mass Effect 2together because he never wants to see what’s going on because he says it will spoil it for him. For the most part I kid around and I am very happy and blessed to have a dad that has shown me the way to a hobby that “WE” both enjoy….If you have any feedback or stories about your family we would be glad to hear them.

GBox Jr.

Episode #61

<itunes:author>GloveBox, NateDogg123, BloodyPolarBear</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Episode #61</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary /><itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit><itunes:block>no</itunes:block><itunes:duration>00:52:07</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords />

World of Warcraft my perspective - GBox Jr

World of Warcraft is an mmorpg that has a lvl cap of 80 until the release of the expansion Cataclysim. The whole leveling process starts off slow for beginners, if you stick with it most people start to enjoy the game. The game has many different gameplay modes. There are pvp roleplay regular and a mixture of all. Pvp is more for the people that don't mind dying 100 times trying to complete a quest. Roleplaying servers are my favorite. This is where most of the game stuff happens such as raids, heroics and things like that happen. Regular servers have both areas for pvp and roleplaying but it's a casual gamers paradise. The leveling process is fun but the game really starts when you do your first dungeon because that is where you start learning things about what's going on in the World of Warcraft. I didn't really pay that much attention to the story because all I wanted to do was be lvl 80and do some raiding. That's where all the fun begins.Raids can have up to 25 people in the newer raids. In the older ones up to 45 people can participate. There are also ten man raids that are easier to complete depending on the way you play. All raids can be turned on heroic mode which is near to impossible to complete unless everyone your with has amazing gear and knows how to play their character very well. The most popular raid at the moment is Icecrown Citadel also known as ICC. This is where you meet many leaders of areas and leaders from the past present and future. But i don't want to ruin the experience so go out get the game have fun and enjoy the world of Warcraft.

Server: Baelgun Charecter - Davechappell
Glovebox's son

Episode #60

<itunes:author>GloveBox, NateDogg123, BloodyPolarBear</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Episode #60</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary /><itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit><itunes:block>no</itunes:block><itunes:duration>00:39:01</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords />

Wow, AJG is now featured on Zune.net

I've been playing this game for about 4 hours, I have experienced great things and big bugs. When first playing the demo you'll feel very overwhelmed, trust me when I say that the DEMO was Shit compared to the full game. Yes there have been some game breaking bugs such as when you finally get to fly, after destroying one of the consoles that unlocks the force field imprisoning fellow fighters I some how hit a wall while trying to fly out. After catching my error I went into hover mode and could not do anything besides hover.
Now for the good, after getting use to the controls and upgrading a few weapons you feel like a bad ass. Blasting douche bags never felt better. Getting to fly around with a jet pack ftw.To describe this game doesn't give it justice you really need to play it to experience the Void.
Now lets get down to what you really want to know.I know what your thinking "Is it worth the 60 bucks". Sadly I don't think it's worth spending the full 60 bones on the Void when there are other Affects going on. I would say if you can find this for around 40 buck grab it and hang on for the ride. But regardless rent it or buy it, it's your choice.
Oh no you didn't!

After much rumor and speculation, Apple has announced the iPad. Adding 3G costs a $130 per model, so the most expensive model (64GB / 3G) is $829.
